MEN’S HAIR GROOMING GUIDE DURING QUARANTINE

MEN’S HAIR GROOMING GUIDE DURING QUARANTINE

Hairstyles are a gateway to a man’s potential for confidence. When he looks good, he feels good and that will allow him to do things that he wouldn’t normally do when he’s not looking his best. Each hairstyle is unique to every man and not everybody can rock a specific style. Some might look good in a Crew cut, others in a Slick Back but regardless, there is a style for every guy out there.

When you get into hairstyling, the man is required to undertake a certain commitment to maintaining the hairstyle he has chosen. Some styles require more care than others and again, it’s all unique to whoever is wearing it. However, with the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, a lot of guys out there might find that hair maintenance gets a little more difficult. Access to the barbershop might be restricted or supply of your favorite hair product may be scarce or cut off. If you have a sophisticated hairstyle, how is it going to survive the limits presented by the pandemic?

WHERE DO YOU STAND RIGHT NOW?

First thing to consider is how long you have had a hairstyle. Have you been wearing a certain hairstyle for a decade or only a month? Are you currently rocking a Caesar cut? Is your head home to a Pompadour? All of these styles have differing maintenance levels and how well you keep to this maintenance can be affected by the pandemic.

WHAT ARE THE ASSUMPTIONS?

The pandemic has made it hard for people to get around and this also affects the distribution of grooming products. With the restrictions, your preferred hair products may have a harder time making it into stores and barbershops may not be open at all during this time. This will change how you approach hair care for the meantime, but it doesn’t have to be that difficult.

SO, HOW CAN YOU GET STARTED ADJUSTING FOR THE PANDEMIC?

CONSIDER DOWNGRADING

Having trouble? Consider downgrading to a simpler style that doesn’t require much upkeep or switch to a style that you can confidently maintain at home. It would also help to know if your local barber shop or beauty supply store will be open to pick up hair care products.

If you are sporting a simple hairstyle like a Crew Cut, a Caesar, or a Side Part, then maintenance will be no problem. But for the more sophisticated styles like Mohawks, Dreads, or Top Knots, then you might find yourself having a difficult time maintaining the upkeep on them.

EDUCATE YOURSELF ON DIFFERENT STYLES

The luxury of having a barber available when you need it might not be a possibility during the pandemic. The shops might be closed or have limited availability. Considering these circumstances, it might be wise to educate yourself on how to maintain the style you want so you can look your best even at home on quarantine.

Start by looking up online resources on what kind of hairstyles you can get and how to maintain them. If you are living with family or a friend, you could also ask for their help in styling your hair or have them do it for you.

GET THE TOOLS… AND THE PRODUCTS IF YOU CAN!

One of the best ways to start self-styling during the pandemic is to get the necessary tools. A blowdryer is a good way to start and eventually leads you into getting more of the right tools to help you with styling your hair.

NEW TO HAIRSTYLING?

Are you one of those guys who has not tried styling their hair before? You might also find it difficult to maintain your hair knowing that your usual barber shops are closed.

Even though your barber is not working, they would like to hear from you. DM/Call them for some tips and tricks on how to style your hair. Nobody knows your hair as well as your barber so they will be one of the best resources you have.

Although the thought of having to maintain your hair during periods of the pandemic can be frustrating and scary. It can also be very fun and educational. I hope this article provided you with some tips that can help you navigate these times, and we pray for good health for you and your family.
