Hair Essential Oil: Guide to Scalp Health and More

By Hair Science August 06, 2020 0 comments

When talking about hair care, most people might think that it only involves the strands of hair that’s coming out of our heads. What they don’t realize is that taking care of your scalp is just as important. You see, the roots of the hair live just underneath the scalp of your head. The hair depends on a healthy scalp in order to remain strong. An unhealthy scalp can lead to a number of problems like hair loss and dandruff.

The scalp secretes its own natural oils called sebum and this is good because it keeps the skin moisturized and protects the scalp from harmful elements like the sun’s rays. Although having sebum is a good thing, the production of this natural oil is different for everyone. Because of hereditary or aging conditions, some might produce a lot of sebum while others might not be producing enough. Our use of products such as shampoos or hair color may also affect our head’s production of sebum.

Thankfully, there are solutions to these problems. Changes in how you treat hair, improvement in your diet, and the use of the right products will help you work towards a healthier scalp and in turn, healthier hair.

IDENTIFY YOUR SCALP PROBLEM

You might have come to this guide looking for help on how to solve your scalp problems.

The first thing we must do is identify the source of the problem.

Symptoms might include dry scalp, dandruff, or hair loss. These are sometimes hereditary, but it could be caused by other things too. Your dry scalp might be because you’re using too much alcohol-based shampoo or from improper washing routines. Your dandruff could be from drinking too much soda. Your hair loss can be from poor circulation. If you think that you’re doing everything right and still have these on-going symptoms, then it might be hereditary but there are still things that you can do to treat your scalp conditions.

TREAT IT (HAIR) RIGHT

Regardless of whether you have identified your scalp problem, you’d want to make some changes to how you treat your crown (hair). Maybe you were brushing too hard with a comb, or washed your hair with shampoo twice a day, or it could be from an imbalanced diet that you’ve grown used to. These are things that you think are harmless but in fact, might be why you are suffering from a certain scalp problem now.

A SOLUTION

A catch-all solution that you can use is (Hair Science’s) Essential Oil. It is an all-natural hair product that acts like a conditioner making your hair look fuller and keeps your skin moisturized. Because it is an oil, it can act as a substitute for sebum if you are not producing adequate amounts of oil naturally leading to dry scalp. It will also help in keeping dandruff at bay and protect your hair from damage. Our product is all-purpose, which means it can be used on your hair, skin, scalp, and/or on your beard.

The Hair Science Essential Oil is formulated by a group of professional barbers and is made using all-natural ingredients like castor oil, coconut oil, and eucalyptus oil (for fragrance). This gives it a variety of benefits, which include strengthening your hair follicles, as well as preventing inflammation. Because it’s all-natural, using the oil doesn’t cause acne or other skin blemishes.

HOW TO USE THE HAIR SCIENCE ESSENTIAL OIL

You can also use the oil in tandem with other methods to improve overall scalp health. Apply the oil onto your scalp, massage it gently, and then use a brush to gradually coat the strands. Wash your hair every other day, and in between use Essential Oil on it to keep it moisturized.

TALK TO YOUR BARBER

When it comes to persistent hair problems, your barber is the best person to talk to. They’re not just guys who cut and style your hair, they’re also like hair doctors and scientists specializing in everything there is about hair. So if you have a barber friend, ask him about your problems and may come up with solutions together.

Having these symptoms is not the end of the world. These can be fixed and if done properly, will set you on the road towards a healthy scalp and strong hair. It doesn’t have to be tedious, and you can always rely on your local barbers to help you along the way. Hopefully, this article has helped you start learning about how to better treat some of the symptoms that may exist in your scalp and hair. Know that we always got you!
